Waylon
Waylon, whose full name is Willem Bijkerk, is a Dutch singer, songwriter, and musician. He first gained widespread recognition in the Netherlands and internationally as one of the finalists on the talent show “Holland’s Got Talent” in 2008. Following this, Waylon participated in the Dutch version of “The Voice” in 2014, where he finished as the runner-up.
Waylon is known for his versatile musical style, which encompasses elements of country, soul, rock, and pop. He has released several albums, including “Wicked Ways” (2009), “After All” (2011), and “Heaven After Midnight” (2014). His music often showcases his distinctive voice and emotive storytelling.
In addition to his solo career, Waylon represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest twice. In 2014, he formed the duo The Common Linnets with Ilse DeLange and achieved second place with the song “Calm After the Storm.” In 2018, Waylon returned as a solo artist and represented the Netherlands with the song “Outlaw in ‘Em.”
