Paul Young

Paul Young, born Paul Antony Young on January 17, 1956, is an English singer, songwriter, and musician who rose to fame in the 1980s. Known for his soulful voice and catchy pop tunes, Young achieved international success with hits like “Every Time You Go Away,” “Come Back and Stay,” and “Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home).”

Young began his music career in the late 1970s as part of the British band Q-Tips, which gained a following for its energetic live performances and soul-infused music. However, it was his solo career that brought him mainstream success.

His debut solo album, “No Parlez” (1983), was a massive hit, spawning several chart-topping singles and earning Young a BRIT Award for Best Male Artist. The album showcased his powerful voice and knack for delivering soulful interpretations of both original songs and covers.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Young continued to release albums and singles, enjoying further chart success with songs like “Love of the Common People” and “Senza una donna (Without a Woman)” (a duet with Italian singer Zucchero). He also collaborated with other artists and contributed to various film soundtracks.

Though his commercial peak was in the 1980s, Paul Young has maintained a dedicated fan base and continued to perform live and record music. His distinctive voice and memorable hits have secured him a place in pop music history.
