Alison Moyet
Alyson Moyet, born Geneviève Alison Jane Moyet on June 18, 1961, is an English singer, songwriter, and performer. She gained prominence in the 1980s as one half of the synthpop duo Yazoo (or Yaz in the United States), alongside Vince Clarke. Their hits include “Only You,” “Don’t Go,” and “Situation.” After Yazoo disbanded, Moyet pursued a successful solo career, showcasing her powerful voice across various genres including pop, rock, blues, and jazz.
Her solo debut album, “Alf” (1984), achieved commercial success with hits like “Love Resurrection” and “All Cried Out.” She continued to release albums throughout the ’80s and ’90s, exploring different musical styles and earning critical acclaim for her distinctive voice and emotional depth in her songwriting.
